To gain better insight into fraud awareness, prevention, and detection in the New Zealand public sector, the Auditor-General has published its findings from a survey of almost 1500 people working in the public sector.
Read the results of the survey which are now available in two documents:
Cleanest public sector in the world: Keeping fraud at bay – overview of the significant findings of the survey.
Public Sector Fraud Awareness Survey – the detailed results, prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers on the Auditor-General’s behalf.
“The survey is the first step towards an ongoing conversation about how we can all protect the public purse to get better value for every dollar used by the public sector.”
The Office of the Auditor-General will break down the survey results by sector and entity size to give public entities more insight. These results will be published in the coming month.
